Protocol: Topical treatments for chronic plaque psoriasis

Protocol: Topical treatments for chronic plaque psoriasis

Cochrane Skin is pleased to announce the publication of a new protocol titled Topical treatments for psoriasis. This protocol outlines the planned methods for a forthcoming systematic review that will evaluate the effectiveness and safety of topical treatments used to manage psoriasis.

Key objectives

The review will assess and compare different topical treatments used in people with psoriasis, with the aim of identifying which interventions are most effective for improving clinical outcomes and disease severity.

The planned systematic review will evaluate available randomized clinical trials and synthesize the evidence.

The outcomes of interest will include measures of treatment effectiveness, such as improvement in psoriasis severity scores and the likelihood of achieving clear or almost clear skin, as well as safety outcomes including local adverse events.

More information is available in the protocol published in the Cochrane Library.
